Week 1
On our first day, we organized a gig at Lobby 1867, featured below:
We decided on roles for the gig: Merch stall, Sound, Announcer, Feedback and Photos.
I chose sound, as I am interested in the world of sound engineering, and believed it could be an opportunity to gain experience in this field.
The equipment that we needed included: PA, Mics, Amps and Cables.
We also went to Wah-Wah Records and each bought a vinyl that changed the music world, in order to exhibit them, along with a review at the gig.
I chose Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd, because I believed that it had a drastic impact on the music world.

What I learnt:
This event really showed me how many different parts made up a gig and how much there was that I hadn't considered yet - venue, staging, sound, performers, equipment, promotion, etc.
I think I need to work on considering these different aspects myself, and not entirely relying on a team to complete the different parts of planning.
The part I most enjoyed was seeing the performances and how our joint efforts had come together, and also seeing the crowd enjoy the show.

These are photos of my exhibition of Dark Side Of The Moon.

Wakefield Art House:
On our 2nd day, we went to a Wakefield museum to get more information on local history before heading to the Art House.
There, we were given the chance to learn about the process of screen printing practically - as we printed our own long division tote bags.

The tote bag that I printed.

Starting my creative challenge:
To get started on my challenge, I quickly assessed my strengths and weaknesses.
Advantages:
- I have played guitar for 5 years.
- I have played drums for 3 years.
- I have played with others.
- I have rudimentary recording and mixing experience.
Disadvantages:
- I have never written a song.
- I have never done a gig.
- I have never recorded others.
I decided that my challenge would be to write, record and mix an original song.
The genre would be Indie / Alternative Rock.
Part of this challenge would be learning to mix / master a track as well as learning the song writing process.
The reason I chose this challenge is because I believe it is the natural progression for me to improve as a musician.
